So, I’ve just been given a tour of The Ravenswood by Sam, one of the new owners and I’m buzzing with ideas.
Not only is the story of the new team’s recent, speedy and successful bid to save this stunning 15th century venue from the developers an inspiration but the space itself gets this celebrant’s creative juices flowing.
For a more traditionally romantic affair the wood paneled Jacobean Room is the perfect choice. And for a more dramatic occasion, the Old Baronial Hall complete with minstrel’s gallery, sweeping staircase and over-sized fireplace is ideal.
If you’re looking for something with a more airy, outside-inside feel then the Princess Beatrice Suite and it’s numerous windows make it virtually impossible to miss the stunning gardens.
Now, speaking of the grounds, how about an intimate ceremony on the steps of the ‘Castle’, a tiny folly on the terrace overlooking the lawns?
Or for a secret garden vibe you can choose from one of several hidden space with overhanging flowers and ornamental cages or rustic huts, tucked away in amongst the trees.
However, the venue will always be hired out on an exclusive basis so why limit yourself, how about a treasure hunt wedding spread across the grounds leading to the exchanging of rings and promises beside ‘The Ruins’ in the woods on the other side of the lake?
With The Ravenswood’s passionate and enthusiastic team on hand to help and the freedom that comes with booking a celebrant-led ceremony (no need to restrict yourself to the licenced spaces) the only limit is your imagination…
